It was time for me to schedule an appointment with my eye doctor. I needed a vision test. That appointment inspired this post.
A sense of sight is useful for navigating our way through the world. It helps to see where we are going. But a sense of vision is just as important. See, having a vision is essential for navigating our way through life.
In the dictionary, the word vision is defined two ways: 1) the act or power of sensing with the eyes; 2) the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.
This lesson supports that second definition. It is up to us to create the vision of what will or may come to be in our lives. That responsibility is solely our own.
Everyone needs a vision — that anticipated and desired image of who and what they will someday be, do or achieve. Everyone needs to see themselves and their lives as having the potential to become more. There is nothing wrong with wanting more if it inspires you to be better.
Understand that the size of your vision is critical. We all need to enlarge the vision that we have for our lives. Your life will only be as unlimited as you allow your vision of it to be.
Give yourself this vision test:
- What do you see yourself becoming in life?
- What do you see yourself doing?
- What do you want to achieve?
My vision gets larger every day. In addition to the many exciting Be Unlimited projects that are soon to be unveiled, there are personal goals that I am also intending to see materialize in my life. I am anticipating big things. You should be too.
Sure, it might sound easier said than done, but you must try. Whether you’ve been disappointed, knocked down, or if you’ve just lost sight of a better vision for yourself and for your life, I encourage you to find something worth being excited about. Start with one thing.
Hopefully these words spark something in you: an idea, an action, a change — anything that leads you to a new and better vision. No matter where you are right now, always remember that there is so much more to see…and so much more for you to be.
