You can reinvent yourself at any moment you choose.  I live by this idea and encourage you to do the same.

To reinvent is to change.  Give yourself permission to change your mind any time your situation doesn’t feel like the right fit.  This imperfect fit might be the people you hang around with.  It could be your attitude about your future.  This imperfect fit might be the choices you’ve been making and the negative outcomes they’ve resulted in.

As you start a new school year, reinventing yourself might be the perfect first assignment.  Get ready for Reinvention 101.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to improve yourself.  You can always start over and create something else, something closer to your highest potential.  Consider it an upgrade.  No one limits the number of choices you get.  That’s entirely up to you.  This is what Be Unlimited is all about.

Here’s the mistake too many people make.  They focus on exterior changes, meaning that they change the clothes they wear or how they style their hair.  The most important changes start on the inside.  Changing your mind is the first step.

You are what you think.  That’s why setting intentions is so important.  The word intention means to stretch toward.  Having an intention is putting energy into something that you one day want to be, do, or see happen in your life.  It’s setting a goal.  It’s making a plan.  You are never too young to set intentions for your life.  Why not start today?

There are many things that can challenge your intentions.  Ever hear about The Thought Intruders?  That’s what I call them.  The Thought Intruders make us rethink everything.  They want us to believe that failures are permanent and that mistakes cannot be erased.  Sometimes The Thought Intruders give us what seem like good reasons to doubt ourselves and even question our potential.

I have dealt with The Thought Intruders at times in my own life.  It helps to have an intention, goal, or plan for your life that’s bigger than any doubt or fear that attempts to make you rethink it.  You have to want something bad enough that you push through anyway.

I have started many projects in my life that were challenged by doubts and the fear of failure.  What kept me going?  I focused on what I wanted to accomplish in such a way that I was able to visualize it.  I thought about how it would feel to achieve what I wanted.  I considered how it would make me a better person.  Finally, I thought of how reinventing myself would benefit other people.  When I set out to create Be Unlimited, I did all of those things.  Changing my mind was the first step.

A new mindset is something you have to build over time.  It takes more than one day to do it.  Every time you make a positive improvement in yourself, accomplish a goal, bounce back from a disappointment, or solve a problem, it gets stronger.  If you’re reading this right now, your mindset is already getting better.

You can reinvent yourself.  You can change your life.  You really are unlimited.
